Hey! I'm Rehat, a Junior in the Bay Area, I created this website to help make linguistics easier to understand and more accessible. In my free time I love reading, painting, and playing music. I love that linguistics can intersect with so many different topics- there is something to interest everyone, and I'm so excited to share this project!

Hi! I’m Sriya, a senior from Fremont, CA, and Im super excited to be a part of this team. I’m really passionate about linguistics (especially language documentation and language preservation of endangered languages). I host monthly meetings through my linguistics group (tinyurl.com/linguistics-group) where students from around the country can interact and discuss linguistics! In my free time, I love reading, being outdoors, and hanging out with my friends.

Hi! I’m Ben, and I’m a high school junior from Maryland. I’m broadly interested in linguistics in all its forms and language's role in our daily lives. My primary interests in the field currently include language preservation and L2 acquisition. In my free time, you can probably find me out biking or working through a pile of unread books.

Hi, I'm Kai (they/she)! I’m a high schooler from the East Bay with a longstanding passion for linguistics, and I am very excited to be a part of the YLJ team. To me, linguistics is a microcosm of all of the things that makes us human — from phonetics to historical linguistics and morphology to semantics, every aspect of the field can serve as a window into how we think, communicate, and connect. Whatever subject matter is explored, I hope my articles inspire a deeper, more profound appreciation for the beauty of language.
